Default Brown spot on Bulbo

I received a Bulbophyllum hirundinis last week that I purchased. It was very healthy when I got it. Until yesterday, I had it in it's interim spot in the bathroom. Then I moved it outside to a shady spot yesterday afternoon. This morning there is a brown spot on one leaf that looks like bacterial brown spot. I swear it wasn't there yesterday, but the weather changed and this morning it was very hot already outside. Other than that one spot, the plant still looks very healthy but this is my first Bulbo. It has some new roots emerging and some healthy new leaves.

I want it to stay healthy though. Should I treat it or watch it or what? In the meantime, I've moved it back inside to it's spot in the bathroom. I've attached a photo. Sorry for the distracting bathroom wallpaper. One of these days I'll change it.

Is that scale? How do we treat that with a commercial insecticide safe for orchids?

I'm guessing it was a bacterial infection. I found a site with pictures or orchid diseases and pests. It looked just like a bacterial infection.

I ended up first cutting out the brown spot. Eventually the entire leaf turned yellow so I took it off. Everything still looks healthy. It's still growing new roots. So I'm just going to watch it and make sure it stays healthy.

Now I just need to find a place to put it outside. Right now it's still in quarantine in my bathroom.

That wasn't a big deal. I see those on my Bulbos occasionally. It wasn't necessary to remove the leaf.

It wasn't bacterial. It looks like a very minor fungal infection.

If it was bacterial, that leaf would've all been a brown mush by now.

Thanks Philip!

I've been nervous about bacterial infections ever since I got a phal at an orchid club raffle a couple of years ago that had a bacterial infection. The infection took over the plant within a day or two and started spreading to another phal where they touched.

The leaf on the bulbo was already turning yellow so it was on it's way out anyway. It was an older leaf so perhaps it was just its time to go. Anyway, it doesn't look like it missed a beat. It's good to know it's just a minor thing that happens sometimes.
