New orchid owner and new to site in need of help!!!
Unhappy New orchid owner and new to site in need of help!!!

I am new to the site and a very excited new orchid owner!!
I have received what looked to be a very healthy orchid plant. I am not sure what kind it is(it came from Wal-Mart) but it has 6 flowers that have already bloomed and 10 buds while 2 are half way opened. I watered the plant two days after i recieved it and have not fertilized. Today i have noticed tiny(pin head sized) raised bumps on the top of the leaves which i have never noticed before and i looked at the plant alot as i dont want to kill it. I have no idea where they could have come from. I had put the plant into an east window where at times quite a bit of light comes in and is on the plant directly for about an hour or so then drops as the sun raises. There were two that were black looking and the rest are the same color as the leaves and seem to be a part of the leaves? I did see a tiny needle point bug on the leaf that was red but in my area we have ticks like crazy and it looked like a baby tick but i may be wrong?

Congrats on your new orchid! And welcome to the orchid board!

It's very hard to help diagnose a problem without photos. I believe, you need 5 posts before you can upload a photo.

Agreed, pictures would help, but you need 5 posts.

Why not post an introduction in the intros section to say Hi to everyone, and then find some nice pictures of orchids an post a comment that you like them. That will quickly get you up to 5 and then you can post a picture here.
