Weird brown/black spots on Phal/Dtps

I just found some weird spots on my Dtps - is this a pest problem or fungal? Please help.

I mixed ground cinnamon with some water and smeared it on the spots. Hope it helps.

Thank you, Sonya - it'd definitely be nice with some help. I just ordered some fungicide and systemic insecticide, and I'll give her a dose of each when they arrive in the mail. Hope all is okay.

That does not look like insect or fungal damage. As Sonya suggested, I would also agree that it may be natural, especially considering that the flower spike seems to be naturally aging.

The fungicide and insecticide are good to keep around, but I suggest only using them when you have a diagnosed pest or disease problem.

Looks like an aging spike to me. I have several that have gotten these purplish brown spots on them just before the spike dies back.
