Default Brown markings on phaph slipper

I am just wondering if this browning or mark spot on the slipper portion of my phaph is just aging or to much moisture or to strong of nutrients . thanks

Possible the flower got wet during or after development, or its just aging (more likely). How old is the flower?

The first pic , is a flower that has been in bloom for about 4 weeks and the smaller one is about 2 weeks since it fully bloomed . it is in a sphagnum moss entirely and gets only half a dose of nutes once a month .

It might have got wet and then hastened the aging process. Don't know for sure.

Why do you think too strong of nutrients could be a problem? If you do, it's best to correct it anyway, going forward.

The spot looks too distinct and localized to be aging. And at 4 weeks it still has several weeks to go. Generally when the bloom starts to go it browns out fairly evenly over a 2-3 day period.

you mentioned wet during the growing proccess , I have a bad habit of misting all my plants with a water bottle to help increase humidity temporarily . and I admit i sprayed the flower head a few times while it was developing . perhaps that habit needs to go!

I agree with Bill.

Or maybe you bumped into the pouch accidentally?
Usually mechanical damage takes a few days to show up.
