I bought a Cattleya yesterday, and it is almost totally dried up. It's still green however! I thought a little spahg and TLC would cheer it up, and I know it's only been one day, but I'm worried about how long it will take to see improvement. any thought?
its just a little dried out, but the root I see looks good...I would be careful not to kill it with kindness by overwatering since it is in moss....first thing I would do is put it in large hard bark, and water every week to ten days or so....cats like to dry out totally between waterings...good luck!
With appropriate care (allow media to dry in-between waterings), it should be fine. The pbulbs aren't too likely to plump up, but new growth will come.
That doesn't look too bad to me. I would pot it up normally, stake it if necessary to keep it from flopping around, maybe cover loosely it with a plastic bag for a little extra humidity, don't seal it. Low light to start but otherwise normal care. The wrinkles may never disappear, but new growth will be healthy.
