In north Georgia we get the anoles, also five-lined skinks (the skinks have blue tails when young, red heads as adults). We also see a few kinds of tree frogs (gray tree frog, green tree frog, barking tree frog).

The anoles are particularly common hanging around my orchid stand in the summer.

The pics are on the OB. You can do a search.

The last one I had just passed away yesterday morning. I don't really know why. Perhaps it was old age, idk. I did have it for about 3 or 4 years, and when I first purchased them, they were already full grown.

oh no how sad. I would be sick if I lost my Sheldon but I guess it is a good thing that they live for upwards 2 50 years. Im not liking it now with him going into his partial winter hibernation as it is.

Sorry for your loss

I'm so sorry for your loss, Philip... I know how hard it is to lose a pet, we have lost a few over the years.. We actually lost one recently.

Rest In Peace little guy, it was a cool, and beautiful snake, I liked his (her?) big eyes :'(

Thank you for the condolences. I do miss them.

If you guys want to know the snakes' gender, me and the vet have good reason to believe that both Keeled Slug Eating Snakes were female.

They were such small animals that they were difficult to probe, and not a lot of people were familiar enough with this snake to sex them by looking at the tail width and length.

I think that both snakes had a fair run under my care for being wild caught animals. I don't know how long they really live, and this species' lifespan has not been documented, but I think it's safe to say that they most likely would not live to be 50 years old. I think they quite possibly only live to be about 10 - 15 yrs.

They were such cool animals to have around.

I loved their beautiful, big, metallic-brown eyes.

Their hunting and feeding behavior is just something else.

My condolences for your loss as well.

Do you mind me asking what the pet was?
