If you guys want to know the snakes' gender, me and the vet have good reason to believe that both Keeled Slug Eating Snakes were female.
They were such small animals that they were difficult to probe, and not a lot of people were familiar enough with this snake to sex them by looking at the tail width and length.
I think that both snakes had a fair run under my care for being wild caught animals. I don't know how long they really live, and this species' lifespan has not been documented, but I think it's safe to say that they most likely would not live to be 50 years old. I think they quite possibly only live to be about 10 - 15 yrs.
They were such cool animals to have around.
I loved their beautiful, big, metallic-brown eyes.
Their hunting and feeding behavior is just something else.
