Bacterial spot???? photos included! - Orchid Board

hello OB, it has been a while since my last visit. I have a odontocidium wildcat variation D. It has (2) 300w(equivalent) 68w each actual watt 2700k clf 16" from canopy. light is is enough I assume. are these spots a sign of too much light or is it something else. The plant is in flower and has a 1.5" spike starting to form. I aslo have inoculated the moss with trichoderma to initiate SAR and help guard against root issues. Any help please!

I am not for sure about this but my guess is mild sun burn mixed in with bugs draining your leaves.

I was thinking the same thing about the mild burn as the 3 ondontocidium (center front,. left center, and far left ) only have the spots at the tips. The oncidium sharry baby ( center right and far right) are true oncidiums and have a higher light requirement, consequentally don't have any spots. And the phalenopsis in the top center is displaying a purple hue. But its in flower and a hybrid so the higher light levels are taken well.

HighSeas is right....insect sucking on the juices of the leaves....scrub it with sponge and dish soap especially on the underside of the leaf=if leaves are perspiring or giving out sticky sap its mites....very tiny so you will need a magnifying glass to see it

There might be soft mites _which are not insects- , but the little dark point in the center gives me the idea of fungus damage, advantaged by stagnant humid air.

I spray all the plants every 3 weeks with bayer advanced 3 in 1. says it kills mites and the phal was the only one that used to have little sap specks. I also use the foger in conjuction with my celing fan. so there is always air flow.

On pic 035 a spot has a geometric diamond shape, characteristic of Guignarda/Phyllosticta, see Sue Bottom's pdf at STAUG website for directions.

I don't know about the first pictures. It doesn't look too serious but you can try treating for both fungus and insects (like mites). The fourth picture looks like a typical leaf spotting fungus. Oncidiums are very susceptible to that type of fungus. It won't kill the plant but it's unsightly and will spread. Most fugicides work on that type of fungus. Good air flow can help also. Using a fertilizer that contains calcium can also help prevent it. At least that's been my experience.
