Sorry, all I see is a happy Phal - in fact, isn't that a new spike on the right (above the other spike)?

Yes, it is. That isn't what concerns me, it's the holes in the established leaf and the bud emerging. No snails. Maybe I will spray it and hope it helps

You say "No snails". Is that because there aren't any, or because you want to get rid of them? If you are worried about snails, only effective treatment is Metaldehyde available in products like Ortho Bug-Getta granules. Don't get them on your skin, just sprinkle on surface of potting mix. It's OK to grind up a couple pellets and dumps them into the crown of the plant so long as you keep the plant dry - always. If you have no signs of snails, what is eating holes in the leaves?

That's what I would like to know. That's why I asked if it might be crown rot. The leaf with the big holes came out of the crown that way. In regards to snails, I have pulled the phal out of the pot looking. Could I still have one?

You'd see it. They don't stay put - I've had my share of snails. I'm stumped. Hope someone can come to your rescue, but if you don't actually see snails, don't try to treat for them until they are confirmed.

Another thought - this is really far out here and I hope some other Phal growers chime in here, any chance it's crown rot? Reason I ask is I had a Paph that developed something similar and I caught it earliy and removed the problem (drippage from above.) It had similar look to leaves. I don't know, maybe a far stretch, but maybe? If so, treatment is to grow your plant drier. Don't spray leaves (I never spray any mine) and try to never get liquids in the crown (center) of the plant, any time.

I don't see any crown rot either. It looks like something has been chewing on your plant.
Linda, do you leave your plant outside at all?
