Okay so soaked it in physan 20 for 20 min
I am going to allow it to dry for 24 hours and then repot. I noticed there were new see through roots coming in on it from the center. The phulbs look to have munch marks on them that I have not seen before.

I was about to move the copy in 'About' to the 'Pests and Diseases section where your previous posts about this plant were. I'll delete that copy in 'About' now I've seen this one.

I'm going to move this one from Beginner to 'Pest's and Diseases' so it follows on from the last, and because rather a lot get's dumped in (and sometimes as a result lost in) 'Beginner'.

I have a few Grammatophyllums and they are AWESOME orchids....actually two of my favorites. Both are full of blooms and have been since July.

I give mine full sun....ALL day. They grow in the tops of tree's and get direct sunshine. It's okay to give them some shade during the day but for the most part they LOVE heat and they LOVE sun.

Because of their high metabolic rate (they grow very fast) they need frequent feeding. I feed mine weakly twice a week BUT water each and every day. If they don't get that, they will drop their leaves and it looks like disease when they do. Also when the old pbulbs begin to die off, you'll think it's rotting. It isn't. That's just what they do. Because of this, I wouldn't necessarily say it's got a fungus or bacteria but I would treat it anyway.

Just make sure you water it every day and that it's in a very course bark. I use large (very large) bark and lump charcoal with sponge rock. They love it.

Treat him and water him every day. He'll be fine. I'd cut off that leaf too, just in case.

The Gramm's pbulbs will sustain the plant until new growth appears. Just give him water every day...feed him weakly 2-3 times a week. (Actually I feed more than that) and give him sun! I give mine a shot of Kelp (Seaweed) once a month too. He's currently got 6 new pbulbs growing from the bases. Just keep in mind that these are equatorial plants. They don't like any temps below 50 and if they are subject to them, their first reaction is to drop all of their leaves.

I hope you're in for this ride. They grow FAST. It's like having a baby hippo around the house!

Well we are still having 100 degree weather. Its rather warm, I have said in other posts that we don't get our first cold weather for another 2 months. Our first real cool yucky weather is around thanks giving.

I have a gramm wallissii. As well thank goodness for large southern porches!!

Its still small now they are all small right now....my family will flip when they learn how big this thing will get or they will get. lol. Thanks for the info.

So fertilize every time I water?

---------- Post added at 09:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:45 PM ----------

Do you soak it everyday or do a flush until roots are green, with fertilizer or just spray and go everyday. lol, Now that I am not petrified its sick and will give my plants something I have lots of questions. lol.
