What you have there is a plant with apparently no viable roots. I would treat the entire plant with a systemic fungicide, and then a root-growth stimulant.

I would soak it in Physan 20....then allow it to dry. Rinse. I'd then soak it in KLN for some 15-20 minutes. Rinse. Then I'd bag it. Look up Sphag and bag. If you don't do something soon, it won't survive.

I think I would just try one treatment and then do everything in my power to encourage root growth.

If you don't want to get the Physan, you could try one of the cinnamon recipes on Ray's site. Look under "Free Info" and then "Home made".

If you don't use KLN, then at the very least, I'd get some Super Thrive and most surely Seaweed or Kelp.

There are a lot of people here who have a great deal more experience than I do with "rescue" missions! Perhaps James will pop in and help you.

I've sprayed it with fungicide but whilst i was waiting for it to dry the only good root started to shrivel and turn brown, I've now watered it and soaked it in Superthrive and the root is no longer shrivelled but it is brown. (you can see it in the picture)

i've also covered the whole plant in a see through plastic bag, will that work? or do i need to put the plant in a bag with water?
