As other members pointed out, these little snails hitchhike into our houses. These are very common.

Funny thing is only the orchids in bark has these bush snails.

You can tell you have them by nightly patrol.
They are usually nocturnal.

They also come out of the pot when you soak the pot in water for a long time, I would say longer than 20 or so.

When the infestation gets bad, you will see new roots of your orchids eaten up. and this is actually how I first found out about them. New roots on my dendrobium were being chewed up by something but I never found out what, until one evening I saw these little ones sitting and eating the roots.

Altogether I think I found over a dozen that night mostly on the Dends. I cannot use the snail baits because I mist my plants every day but I think I'll use the carrot (or potato) technique and see just what I find. Thanks for the suggestions.

I do the nightly patrol too.
Even when you do not see any, which is usually the case after hunting them down for one or two nights, using the veggie slice, you can get more of them out the pots.

Leave one slice or two on each pot after sunset and check every half an hour or so until well into the night.
You may be surprised by what you find.
