C. Carribean 'Orange Bowl' with weird ring spots
Hi,
I purchased this orchid a few months ago. The one leaf was closed and twisted like it is when I bought it. I just noticed the yellow area and odd rings today. Does anyone have an idea what it could be?

Thank you for asking.
The vendor e-mailed me back and felt it was fungal. I cut the leaf off, treated it with neem oil spray and it hasn't returned. |

I would get a systemic fungicide as soon as possible and use it as per label. I have a whole collection of fungus/bacteria/virus laden orchids. No big for me but unless you want yours the same, treat it now.

Others are more familiar with various fungicides. I'll defer to someone else who uses them more.

Normally when this occurs the leaf falls off within days, but the disease does not spread into the bulb.

I've had lots of catts and laelias that have had this and it eventually starts to affect the pbulb and newer leaves unless taken care of to start with.
