Default C. Carribean 'Orange Bowl' with weird ring spots

Hi,
I purchased this orchid a few months ago. The one leaf was closed and twisted like it is when I bought it. I just noticed the yellow area and odd rings today. Does anyone have an idea what it could be?

Thanks for looking

Thank you for asking.

The vendor e-mailed me back and felt it was fungal. I cut the leaf off, treated it with neem oil spray and it hasn't returned.

I would get a systemic fungicide as soon as possible and use it as per label. I have a whole collection of fungus/bacteria/virus laden orchids. No big for me but unless you want yours the same, treat it now.

Thank you, James. Do you recommend Phyton 27 or something different?

Others are more familiar with various fungicides. I'll defer to someone else who uses them more.

Normally when this occurs the leaf falls off within days, but the disease does not spread into the bulb.

Yes, that is certainly a very helpful link, I've used this PDF countless times over the past year or two ... There is a second "part" (if you will..) to it, about pests & pesticides... Just figured I'd post it as an addition, so ppl can have both
http://www.staugorchidsociety.org/PD...rchidPests.pdf

It's from the St. Augustine Orchid Society website: St. Augustine Orchid Society - North Florida Orchid Growing (good info even if u don't live in Florida!) and on the left side column, titled "Pests & Diseases" there is great info & pics of disease/pest damage & how u got it/how to get rid of it... etc. There's even great articles by Sue Bottom (who is pretty well-known in the Orchid world), and others, that r helpful... If y'all explore the site a little I haven't found any website that has better info (thats all in one place) than what this site has.
