White mold or are these teeny tiny eggs?
Hello...
I have a question regarding my newly purchased Phal. orchid. The pests and diseases link has a lot of good info but unfortunately I did not find an answer. Well I kind of did but now I am not sure if this is white mold or some kind of teeny tiny white eggs.
I bought this orchid yesterday at a supermarket. I did inspect it but maybe not well enough? Unless this just happened to form within the last 24 hours. The orchid is currently in bloom and has 2 spikes. Leaves look strong and healthy. I do think it needs to be watered though because the medium is looking dry (which is mostly bark and what looks like crushed up bark in the container). Also notice some bright green algae spots in the container.
These teeny white dots are on some of the roots and bark.
I wish I could post a picture but can't at the moment.
Thanks a lot for reading...I will continue to search online maybe I'll come across something...it's such a beautiful orchid and I want to save it!

I can see it a little.
I think you will want to repot the orchid when you do make sure to rinse the roots. Other then that I dont know what you should do some other members should come along and help

Those little white dots are not harmful.
It looks like you got a very nice Phal. To me the mix looks fine and it has great roots.
