I have a little phal mini that has just developed what looks like an indentation on one of the leaves. It is circular and is smaller on the top than on the bottom. It almost looks (and feels) as though someone tried to take a hole puncher to it but then changed his mind!
I'm concerned that it is some type of disease. Any thoughts???
I had two white mini phal (Lui's Fantasy they were) that had lots of these sunken brown spots.
I'm not 100% what they are, but it's gotta be some kind of bacterial or fungal disease.
The variety being very common and with so many plants in the house, I just got rid of those two phals.
You could probably remove the affected area and see if those spots come back.
I have the exact same spots on my Phal violacea. I think it's most likely a fungal or bacterial infection that could be caused by water left on the leaves or the lack of air movement.
I applied physan and soaked the plant in thiomyl (systemic fungicide). The spots haven't increased in size. You could try treating with a fungicide. If the spots on your leaves continue spreading, you should cut off the affected area.
