Paph. barbigerum v. lockianum with black spots at base

Hello all!

Does anyone know if these black spots at the base of the paph are a problem. I've gone through every orchid problem I could find trying to figure out what they are and nothing seems to match!

That looks normal to me.

It's just pigmentation in the leaf. Completely normal.

Thank you so much! This is the only paph I have. Is this a paph thing or does it also happen with other orchids?

Occasionally I see it on the new leaves of Phals getting bright light. The "freckles" go away after the leaf matures.

It is not even a paph thing. It is a "certain paphs" thing.
There are other orchids that show pigmentation although not too common.
They will show in different part of them in different shape/pattern.
