What is wrong with my orchid? I just noticed this. There is only one on the entire plant. Am I just paranoid?

Perhaps a bit if mechanical damage or even a bug chew. Honestly, mine get these from time to time, but its bit serious. If it progresses or you find more in a short amount of time, I'd be concerned.

I went ahead and swabbed it with alcohol on that spot (top and bottom). I hope I did the right thing. I am slightly relieved but will be monitoring closely.

It doesn't hurt to apply alcohol. I never have. I occasionally get those "blemishes" and just monitor for more.
