Default Beginner: yellowing and browning of leaves

I'm a newbie. I got this orchid as a birthday gift from my mother in law. About a week after I started noticing the yellowing and browning on the leaves. I've attached a picture of the leaves and the flower. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thank you so much!

Your plant is a Phalaenopsis. It might have been exposed to cold while in transit from the growers greenhouse to the store. Better cut the decaying part to save the part where its still healthy. Use a small scissors but heat it or sterilize it first, then mix cinnamon powder and little water to make a paste then dab the wounds....good luck!

Nice surgery! well done!
I would keep a close eye on the plant though.
If the browning returns, then it was a disease rather than cold damage.
hopefully not, though!

Wish your plant the best!
