New Phal has dark coloration on roots, is it something to worry about?

Hi everyone,

Just got me a new phal a little while back but today I noticed that its roots on the top of the soil had some sort of dark color to them. I didn't notice root rot there when I bought it so I am wondering if this is something I should worry about?

Or could it just maybe be some residue off the old soil or something?




They aren't really squishy or anything, just a bit soft but that is to be expected from a new orchid from a grocery store They don't know how to water them nicely... And it is a bit dry right now as I didn't know if this was a fungus or anything.
