By the way, do you happen to have photos of those virused orchids?
Did they look fine? just curious...
Some of my "old" phals are showing weird patterns on their leaves and I'm freaking out, which is why I plant to test everything in the house.
I hate viruses!!!!

The orchids looked 100% fine, one even had a flower spike that was about halfway to blooming. In fact, the plants that I thought were going to test positive did not, I was really surprised at the ones that did.
I know a lot of people had had bad experiences with this vendor and I bought the plants from them when I was just starting to get into growing orchids, before I had come across some bad reviews.

Now I have no idea where to get nice phal hybrids with names. They have so many. dang it! hmmmm
I am quite nervous about what I will find out when I get my orchids tested. I mostly worried about oncidium hybrids with ugly leaves and some phals and paphs with funky leaves. oh, and all my cattleyas. basically everything.

Carter&Holmes has a few phals:
• Phalaenopsis: Carter and Holmes Orchids
I have a bunch of cattleya species and also BLC and LC that I purchased from them. I have tested many of them and all that I have tested were negative for ORSV or CymMV.

Yeah, Carter and Holmes have good plants, mostly catt seedlings. They do have quite a few phals, but nothing compared to what Normans' has, plus most of them are what I can buy any time at local florist all year around.
Only if Normans were nicer and cared more about the health of orchids they sell....what a shame!

I agree with you 100%, Norman's are so pretty but in the end, not worth the hassle. Even if I were still allowed to purchase from them (so absurd), I wouldn't want to give them any more of my money. So I've been searching elsewhere and I think I've found some good ones. I found some just now on eBay that look promising.
I also found pineridgeorchids.com which is based in FL but it looks like they also ship them. The website is not great and I think you have to email or call them in order to place an order. I emailed them today and they haven't gotten back to me. Does anyone have any experience with this vendor?
I also just got a few good ones from Hausermann's. Actually one of the plants I got from them tested positive for ORSV and they asked me to send a sample to Critter Creek and they'll pay for the cost of the extra test and replace the plant if necessary. This is a good example of a big nursery that is considerate of their customers. They also made a point of telling me that the plant in question was not originally from their nursery, but from somewhere else.
The other good experience I had was with Akatsuka Orchids who is sending me a replacement plant and were super nice about the whole thing. Highly recommend them both.

In this internet era, I just can't understand how a business owner can be so rude. I mean don't they understand words spread so fast so wide over the internet?
Anyways, I just checked the pine ridge orchid website and they have a lot of phal hybrids, some of which I would love to have.
I would love to have Brother Sandra like right now!
Who is other one that you found on ebay? I think it's a little cold to order anything via mail (although we are having such warm winter so far), but it's nice to know.
Thank you for sharing. Please share any more you find.
Have you checked big leaf? They mainly deal with phals and have quite a few interesting ones, but unfortunately, those are not my cup of tea.
Also, pc orchids in SC has some nice phals as well.
These places are all my eye candies as I have not yet bought anything from them. so I couldn't tell you about how they deal with their customers or how healthy their plants are.
I get most of phals in the flower shops or grocery stores here in the city.
Hausermann I heard is nice.

Speaking of virus-free phals...
Orchidview has very nice, healthy phals. They're renowned for breeding and hybridizing phals, and they have a lot more for sale than what's listed on their website. You can email or call them up to make an order--they are great people and fun to chat with. I love ordering from them!
I've also gotten phals from Al's Orchid Greenhouse and seedling phals from Oak Hill. No issues there.
If I want a generic phal to give as a birthday present to a non-orchid grower, then I just go to TJ's.
