I have been using Dominion 2L which is 21.4% imidacloprid at the rate of 1 ml per 6 liters which is equivalent to 0.64 ml per gallon. The datasheet recommendation is 0.45 ml per gallon. My last application I used even more at 1 ml per gallon.
Using the datasheet recommendation of 0.45 ml Dominion 2L per gallon gives:
450 mg X 0.214 = 96 mg imidacloprid per gallon.
You say that the Monterey product is 1.47% imidacloprid. So the Monterey product is 14.7 mg/ml so to get 96 mg per gallon you would use 96/14.7 = 6.6 ml of the Monterey product per gallon of water.
