Default Root rot

Hi everyone,

just discovered that 4 of my chids got root rot . (I have all my orchids indoors)
Well, I cut off all the roots with fungi but that left 3 of them with no root whatsoever. I heard of sphag'n bag techinque as last attempt to save them but dont know how to do it exactly. I have searched the web and there are different versions - some say wrap remaining roots in sphag and some say have it away from the plant. Please help - as i am completely hearthbroken and helpless and time is ticking!

Hi Lenka, I would say that the sphag is really only there to keep the humidity/moisture levels up. It really doesn't/shouldn't be in contact with the plant - if it is, you risk encouraging rot/mould.

There are details of how people do this in the following thread: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...treatment.html

I hope that helps! If you have any other specific questions, just pot them here!
