Silvery/whitish dust?

No discoloration. That's what had me confused. If it's powdery mildew, would that cause the scale like damage on the top of the leaves?

Any comments or thoughts on this? This one is new to me and it has me a bit worried, although if it's that mold stuff, sounds like I shouldn't be but I do want to get rid of it. What causes it?

I have some plants on the side of my house with this. It is unsightly but it doesn't seem to be bothering the plants any. Isopropyl alcohol should knock it out. I think mildew is the result of shade, humid conditions and, often, not enough air movement. These are precisely the conditions where I am seeing the mildew on my plants.

If it's powdery mildew on the bottom, you ought to be able to wipe it off with a wet, soapy paper towel.

The stuff on the top surface looks entirely different and unrelated, to me.

Ok, I'm assuming the isopropyl alcohol would remedy both scenarios? What about the spraying of cinnamon extract, dish soap and water.

Isopropyl alcohol, like bleach, kills mildew and mold. It is commonly recommended to be used for getting rid of mildew and mold on walls, windows, shower walls, etc., as it works without causing faded spots in one's clothing or on paint. It is equally effective with plants. It dries and disinfects and isn't quite as harsh as bleach. I would personally use the alcohol instead of your other options. If the mold has caused damage, disinfecting the plant will be a good safety measure.

Ok, so I used a rag of the alcohol (ugh, made me sick to smell) but nothing came off. I was under the impression that stuff would come off. Was that wrong? If it's mold, wouldn't that have come off? If it's not mold, starting to think the mites would be right to begin with. Spraying with the homemade cinnamon mix again....
