its a psychopsis mariposa "grren vally" well it should start cooling down here in a bit, its the rainy season which helps keep the temps down some...in another month or so it should average in the late 70's-mid 80s depending...so maybe that will help.

update,...ok so after 2 more buds blasted on the one spike i cut it back to 3 nodes, and it has since started growing a new spike from the top most node....the other spike ( which had been priviously cut back by the original grower) is now forming a bud...it apears to be healthy at this time and is getting quite lagre....im hoping that it opens....its at this stage the buds on the other spike turned yellow and fell...so it seems like a good sign that this new bud hasnt dropped or discolored yet....and i noticed some new root growth around the base of the newest psuedobulb....so things are looking up for this plant....

unfortunately a zygopetalum i have that was pushing new growth and two spikes, is in trouble...the new growth is turning black...and the two spikes seem like they are about to follow suit...i have no idea what happened...perhaps some water lodged in the growing crown..i dont know....fortunately i have another that seems to be doing very well...its just finnishing up the last of 4 spikes...and the new growths look healthy and vigerous...ya ..i love zygopetalums
