Can't identify those insects !
Default Can't identify those insects !

Hey,I just have to ask you guys something,I don't know how to get rid of it at all...

After watering my orchids,I have noticed on one of them that some black, really really small insects(that's why I have not attached any photo, because my camera cannot focus them) were hovering on itsd roots.

They are apparently BLACK,look like some minuscule, shiny, very very shiny balls that move fast.

I have soaked the orchid in a mix of cinnamon and dish soap+warm water, and after 10 minutes, rinsed with clear water...I didn;t do anyhting else because I feared that any mistake could be fatal for the plant...
Any advice ?
Do you know what am I reffering to ?

Home Cheapo and Lowes sells Bayer Insecticide. Kills most bugs quickly and surely. Won't hurt the plant at all.

do not rinse it with water after you soaked it in soap, cinnamon extract and tepid water....
leave it in the mix...its not dangerous for the plant...only insects get affected. the plants and humans and pets are safe
soak the media under the mixture for 15 minutes to kill the eggs and the bugs...spray the whole plant until soaking wet especially on every nook and crevices...repeat again next week...have two weeks rest then repeat again

Can you give me the exact recipe" for the mix?
I don't want to add too much soap,I did that in the past with a superbe Phal and managed to kill it...

10 drops of dish soap
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon mix
2 cups tepid water

put it in a spray bottle add a cinnamon stick inside it
then spray til soaking wet

make more mixture to put inside a bucket and soak the plant pot submerged in the liquid...and you will notice the bugs will float and die....but hold til 15 minutes for the eggs to absorb the liquid....

*I use this to spray cockroaches, mosquitos and flies drop upon contact with the spray

* soap will not kill a Phal; you can give it soapy water every time and the roots will just love it....maybe it died from other causes
