Spots on oncidium leaves Male
Default Spots on oncidium leaves

Hi,

I have two oncidiums with spots on their leaves:

Picture 1 and 2
Mounted Howeara lava burst, the opaque spots got worse with the recent heat spell. The online vendor told me it was grown outdoors. Could they be due to insects? The leaves are not looking very good.

Picture 3
Tiny black spots on a rescued Sharry Baby. I see the same black spots on another oncidium too. Are they fungal infections?

Perhaps it's nothing to worry about but I thought would check with the folks in here. Thanks!

first picture has a dark ring surrounded by yellowish fungi ....wipe the leaves on both sides with cotton dipped in brown listerine every other day

the third picture seems that its done by a hord of sucking insects.
try this mix:
10 drops dish soap
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon extract(got the McCormick brand at the supermarket aisle with the vanillas and almond extracts)
2 cups tepid water from the sink

mix them all in a spray bottle and add a cinnamon stick inside: shake well
and drench the plant.... leaves ....pot ....media mix and roots to kill eggs...
do this every other week
