Default SucraShield is Back in Stock!

SucraShield is an organic insecticide/miticide that is made from sugar. It kills by dissolving protective coatings on the critters, so they desiccate and die. Interestingly enough, it does not affect bees. I have used it for a few years now, and find it to be fine for in-home use, in addition to the greenhouse.

Unfortunately, I have been unable to get SucraShield for about a year. (It has been one of my best-selling products, too.)

1) The plant that had been toll-manufacturing it stopped doing so.
2) The distributor ran out of stock.
3) Finding a new manufacturer that had an OMRI-certified operation was apparently tougher than they expected.
4) They finally found one, then spent a couple of months optimizing the manufacturing process.

On the plus side - in addition to having a reliable source of supply, the new process has made the material even more effective for killing soft-bodied insects and mites.

I've used this stuff before. It's good. It's smell makes me gag but I have a 2 year old and it's nice to combat bugs with a safe spray, not that I let her touch it or anything but it's a sugar after all.

It functions a lot like a soap, but with none of the phytotoxicity.

I've heard of this before. I'll have to purchase a bottle tomorrow (once I get paid).

How much is shipping for a single bottle?

I have not had a mite issue for years, so no I have not, but as it's mode of action is physical, rather than being a "toxin", per se, it is likely quite effective on them.

Heya Ray! I'll be placing an order sometime soon. What's the requirements when it comes to mixing? In other words, how long would a single bottle last with 250 plants? I plan to spray everything regularly as a preventive before they come in the house this winter.

I cannot answer that, Franco.

A pint bottle will make up 16 gallons of spray, but I have no idea how thorough you are when interpreting "complete coverage".
