Not knowing much about crown rot, I can't really answer that. I've heard that crown rot can kill a plant fast though. Just not sure how this all works. I'm really hoping someone with more experience on that can jump in soon.

In the meanwhile, I know how attached we get to our orchids, but I wouldn't panic. I've certainly killed my fair share of them. It's a process that we all go through and hopefully we learn from each experience. Besides, it'll give you an excuse to buy another!

I think the "eggs" you were seeing were not really eggs at all. They may have been spider mites. That may be the case considering that you mentioned some weblike substance on the plant. This answer is just an educated guess because I've not read your old post and I haven't seen any photos of what you're referring to.

As for crown rot, depending on how bad the rot is, yes, it will decimate a plant within a week. However, if the crown rot doesn't kill off all of the meristematic tissue hidden deep within the central leaf axil, then the plant does have a chance at recovery.

I suspect the yellowing leaves are because the potting media is staying too wet for far too long. I really do recommend a repot somewhere down the line soon.

Would you repot now? Or wait until it's healed? It has dried out significantly today...

I would try to repot now. The problem with the yellowing leaves could get worse if not handled asap.

The yellowing roots will continue to die back. I would concentrate on the living healthy green ones for now. I also wouldn't be concerned about cutting any roots off unless they're 100% dead.

Thank you King! I wasn't really sure about some of the things being asked, so did not want to attempt addressing them.
