Some ceramic items can explode in the oven so be careful. Heat the oven up, with item in, slowly, then bake for required time, turn off the oven, then leave the item in the oven until it cools down. Boiling is the other method but if you don't know anything about the glaze, might be wise to use the oven.
Sorry about your orchid. It is almost a relief, though, to get rid of an orchid that causes so much worry, I think. I might take mine off to my OS....

hi Paul .Sorry about the plant. For the cleaning I use bleach, on pots and on my orchid house, I use a small blow torch and never pot an orchid directly into a decorative pot.
