I hope your orchid is okay. I tossed one that was never vigorous, had patterns on the leaves and plenty of yellow. Another one is in isolation. I hope no other cases will occur. Good luck!
I boil or bake things before reuse. It destroys any virus if done correctly. Most bacteria and fungus cannot survive the process, too, so it is pretty good. Alcohol is great to disinfect and dry for fungual or bacterial infections but it doesn't kill everything, certainly not virus, especially once a virus has latched onto a cell's receptor and caused the cell to start replicating more virus.
I would also contact the vendor of the plants. Send pictures, tell him/her exactly what happened/timeline and tell him/her you just wanted to let him/her know so he/she could test and possibly prevent a virus from spreading through his/her stock. If he/she is a good vendor, you will be asked questions, recieve an apology, and your plants will be replaced or you will get a refund. At least the vendor should be made aware.

Unfortunately, the plant was bought through the botanical gardens store. They had multiple vendors selling plants at that time, so I'm not sure if they would know exactly where it came from. Otherwise, I would have contacted them a long time ago about this.

I had forgotten you had mentioned that the vendor could not be identified. Sorry for your frustration. It is too bad the AOS doesn't have a 'Seal of Approval', 'AOS Award of Excellence' or any other type of endorsement for vendors that go the extra mile to see that their stock is virus free.
Let us know how the tests and treatments turn out.

Will do. Funny thing is that I wanted to start learning about all of this since my collection has grown so large. Sad thing is I didn't want a crash course, lol...

Well, the use of the systemic and other fungicide didn't really seem to work. In fact the symptoms have almost enveloped the entire plant. The zig zag line is no longer there, instead there are round dark, sunken circle lines connected by lines.
So, I took a few leaves in a zip lock bag to the OS meeting last night and had a few people look at them. They all came back with the same diagnosis - virus. So, into a plastic bag and then the dumpster it goes.
Good thing I already bought a replacement, lol.... Makes it a bit easier.

So now my question is, how do I sterilize the glazed clay pot I had the plastic pot and plant sitting in? Or do I just pitch that $15 dollar investment as well?

Baking the pot in an oven will destroy any virus, but it could also crack the pot. If you can heat it to 350-400 degree F for 1/2 hour or more that would destroy any virus.

I misspoke, I believe it's ceramic, not clay. Guess I'll just pitch it too then... Shame...

Ceramic or clay - try baking it.
