Speciosa and Bellina issues

Check out the photos. The Speciosa is in bloom right now, despite losing its lead leaf and the clear issues it has. Any suggestions of what it is and how to treat it?

As an aside, should your expanded clay be sitting that far up on your plant i.e. on top of your leaves and around the crown? I might be wrong as I can't really tell what growing setup you have and I don't really know anything about SH (if you are growing in SH), but surely that's creating excess moisture around the crown and leaf-bases?

If your problem is bacterial/fungal, then I imagine excess moisture (or maybe rather persistent moisture) in those areas would not help.

Natalie, you may have a point though I've never had an issue with planting this high before. It is sh. I just reported this guy about four months ago because he had grown clear out of this pot. So I pot high as in my very dry environment, that hydroton doesn't stay wet for long. I could be wrong but I do not think its excessive moisture in my conditions.

From the looks of it it looks like pilot might be right. In one if the pictures the leave edge is sitting on one of the balls and it has a perfect rot spot of the ball. It does look as though you have fungus and bacteria issue Like king said as well Are you able to wipe the black off at all?
