Black mold on moss.

I appear to have some type of black mold growing on my sphag moss. It isn't on any of my orchids. My camera isn't working for me right now, but I'm pretty sure it's black mold (I don't know what else it could be). Does anyone have ideas on how the get rid of it. Some of it is growing on mounted stuff so removing the moss isn't really an option.

I don't have any experience with black mold but Physan 20 might be a good product to start with. It's a mild bacteriacide/fungicide. I've used it successfully with all my orchids although I've heard that there are a couple of species that are sensitive to it.

Thanks, I have thought about it. Right now I'm trying some worm tea to see if it helps. I know you can't always avoid chemicals.

Anyone have any thoughts on if garden safe fungicide 3 can work? It's got neem oil in it and says it can work on mildew.

while dry try to brush it off with a soft watercolor brush or an old make-up brush of your mother's...then spray it with listerine(the brown one)...repeat weekly til its all gone...it might come back again...so just keep at it...the spores of molds spread fast

hydrogen peroxide is another posibility

it might be black (dead?) algae rather than mold ? I get this in clear pots with plants I keep moist.

White rabbit: you know, I think you might be right. I'm going to try the brown listerine just to make sure.
