Default Is this an infection? What do I do?

Hello everyone,
So a couple of weeks ago I rescued a phal from Home Depot that had what looked like to be mechanical damage to its leaves. But now the spike on my "old and healthy" phal has these "holes" with white around them. And some just whitish spots. The spots are hard and dry and seem to originate from under the skin? But the weird thing is that the spots on the leaves of the 'rescue' don't really seem to have spread, but there arn't any of these spots on the spike of the 'rescue' like there are on my old phal.
Anyway, here are some pictures:

Also, just to be clear, the stem is not from the same plant as the pictures of the leaves.

Thanks for any input!
