I'm reading about Physan20 and seems to me that it is a good product, but it's not available in Canada.Some one told me that in Canadian Tier store in the pool department you can by their house brand Algaecide3 (5%) and claims that is same as Physan20 but only at 5%. Does anybody used this product and what would be the ratio to use.

Sorry, I don't know, but would be very interested to find out. You can't get any fungicides in Canada it seems. I rely on sulfur powder and brown Listerine since that's the best I could ever find!

yes, its the same, will work fine.

Physan is 20% active ingredients, so the 5% stuff - if it's the same chemistry - will requires 4x as much.

physan 20 has 9% of Alkyl* dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride

consan 20 is 10% Alkyl* dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride

HTH pool algaecide is 15% Alkyl* dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride

Find out what the percent of Alkyl* dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride is in the stuff you are interested in before you start dunking your plants in it.

Phyton 27 is copper based which you can find copper based super algae killer for pools also. Can turn things blue that you might not like blued.

I use the liquid copper for any active crapola for instant contact kills and I use consan 20 once a month for prevention so I dont have to use too much copper.

Sorry Rocky, but that's incomplete and inaccurate reporting that could lead to errors when comparing products.

Physan is 10% each of two different active ingredients, Consan is 9%,9% & 2% of three.

It's the same chemistry, only difference is Algaecide 3
is only 5%

Thats why I posted the link is so they can figure it out more easily for themselves. You can see the common ingredients and at what % in them was the idea.
