Default Little black speckles...

Got small black spots on the leaves of my baelara and odynchidium. I was going to treat it for leaf rot or black spot, but Im only really guessing what it is. I will try to get a photo too but any suggestions would be really helpful.

OH and I bought lots of reduced Paphs... do they have browny coloured roots rather than green roots?

Peace xx

Hi Starla, I don't know about the spots for sure. Are they worse under the leaf? If so then I would think black spot. If not, you could isolate and wait to see. I have had orchids with small spots on the leaves that were just fine. But the Paphs DO have brown roots. Lucky you!!!

If they are small speckles and not too many of them, it is likely nothing to worry about. a lot of the oncidium type to get spots. However a picture would help.
And yes, Paph. roots tend to be brown and sort of hairy!

Oncidium alliance plants tend to get spots on foliage, usually the older growth - I'd be more concerned if it's immature growth spotting. Pix are helpful
