you can go to any supermarket aisle where you can find vanilla and almond extract(maybe on a gourmet food store)...if not drop a couple of cinammon sticks inside the spritzer bottle...that would also work...make sure to have cinammon powder at home to put on cut leafs or spikes its a very good antiseptic but dont put the powder on roots it will dissicate it...but try to get the extract thats the best with the mix

It's not commonly found in any of our regular supermarkets here either (Canada). I got some from King Arthur in the U.S. just because my hubby loves all things cinnamon!

Health food stores usually stock a variety of extracts.

They sound like fungus knats, they move really quickly, especially when you start soaking the media. Don't think these are harmful to the plants, if that is what you have, they are just more of a pain and a sign that it's time to repot.

I still havent been able to find cinnamon extract so i think i'm going to have to use the cinnamon sticks. I'm also going to try and get some new medium so i can repot after using the spray, i think the stuff i got before must have been poor quality as i only repotted about a month ago so it shouldnt be breaking down already,
Thanks for all the comments and help guys

I too found this recipe online this year and used it to treat my collection. I also had a few tiny bugs that I couldn't seem to identify that were starting to annoy me. I really liked this mix and it was effective in killing the bugs, although may require follow-up to totally get rid of.
You do need to use the cinnamon extract, rather than cinnamon. I found it in the spice aisle, McCormick brand I think, at Walmart. It should be next to the vanilla extract (especially if all of those other varieties were available).

Asher, I have found cinnamon extract here (UK) only 1 place, which was in a Lakeland store, and I don't think they sell it online. It really is very rare to see it here, BUT perhaps cinnamon oil would work? I believe the extract is just cinnamon oil in either an alcohol or an oil base. The oil would have to be used a lot weaker though, but as it's used for aromatherapy it should be easier to find (and can be bought online).
