Default Yellow Areas On Phal Leaves

Hi,
Could someone tell me what the yellow areas on my phal leaves are, please?

To me that would indicate that the leaves are receiving just a little too much light, aka sunburn. Intense light can damage the green chlorophyll in phalaenopsis leaves. So either you recently moved the plant to a higher light than its used to, or the changing of seasons has made the light more intense in your growing area. It's more a "cosmetic" issue in my opinion.

I agree, it does look like a bit of sun burn.

Ok, then that's an easy fix (I hope). I'll just move it to a bid shadier place in the greenhouse. I haven't moved it in months....it's been sitting on or near the same spot on a bench....BUT....the sun is so much stronger now. That's something I didn't think about. My first thought was a poss. mineral deficiency, but I decided that didn't make sense because all of my orchids are watered and fertilized the same.

Thanks for your reply and help. I wish all of our orchid problems were this simple.

Thanks, Joann. I'm gonna go move it shortly. It's a very sunny and hot day, so I know it will welcome a shadier new home.

I'd expect larger blotches if it were sunburn. Have you checked for critters under the leaves. I'd also check for root rot.

There aren't any bugs (etc.) that I can see under the leaves, but I haven't checked the roots. I'll go do that.
Thanks for your help,
Vicki
