It had to happen. We have had nonstop rain for several days. I noticed the first catt. It had come up over night and was contained to a leaf. I excised down to the pb. poured peroxide on the cut and isolated it. Just found the 2nd catt, again contained to a leaf.
Before I start spraying with D. M45 the rest of my collection does anyone think a systemic fungicide might be a better choice??
I lose one or two leaves every rainy season. I agree it can show up overnight. Luckily it has never progressed past one leaf on my plants. I use a combination of Dithane and Thiomil recommended to me by Broward Orchid Supply. Martin Motes recommends Alliette or Subdue 2E for black rot. I try to spray once a month during the rainy season. I also spray the wooden slats and poles that above the orchids. Last year I noticed that some fungus grew up there and the rain would just washrd it into the orchids. Good luck.
