Please help w/ rescue plant! Emergency! Female
Default Please help w/ rescue plant! Emergency!

Hi all,
I really, really need your expertise!! When my mom died suddenly one year ago, I had NO experience with orchids and sadly, my family and I let all of her orchids just fade away and die. Except one. As I came out of my grief I grabbed the remaining ONE plant that was near death and joined this forum in April and the plant started to recover. I trimmed away SO much rotted/dead roots and nearly all the leaves as they were black and brown. There were only two leaves left. I was overjoyed when a new leaf started growing! It seems to grow a bit every day and I watch over it like a mother hen! Yesterday I was horrified to notice some spotting on one of the leaves and some discoloration starting where the leaf starts to come out from the stem. The other leaf also seems to be getting a hint of discoloration too. This leaf has always had a line through it, but I always thought it was just a "split." I have been poring through all my books and am so dismayed at thinking it is a virus and that I will lose my mother's last remaining plant.

Can anyone PLEASE look at these pictures and give me your opinion as to what it may be? If you think it's a virus, then please tell me the truth... I understand that I may be facing a harsh reality here.

Thank you SO much to all.
