Ok I'll post a pic of the roots, the Phal roots, and the only pot I have thats clear and may be big enough, but is holding an Epidendrum (I can switch)

Here is are some pics, the phal with the new growth is what the phals look like after their roots have been utterly ravaged. The other one is what it looks like when it starts. Then there is my mix size, and pot size + ascocenda roots.

There's nothing wrong that I can see with the Phal.
The Ascocenda can use some more water.

Just wet the roots and see what you can do to get them in there without as much damage as possible.

I would also check for mites as Ray mentioned run a wet paper towel over and under the leaves if it has orange smears then it is mites . The Phal. looks fine ..

If you're trying to grow the ascocenda and the phal under the same light conditions, you'll never get any blooms. The asco needs a great deal more light.
