Plant behaves as a seedling

Last winter I bought my first phalenopsis(mature plant with bud) as I was novice I over exposed and in all leaves dropped.The plant managed managed to survive but the new leaves were much smaller(like those of seedlings).
I am attaching two pics of how the plant looked before and how it looks now.
I want to know what is wrong with the plant and do I have to wait long for it to come to its old flowering stage.Please comment.

By over exposed I assume that you mean that you left it outside and it got too cold? If it dropped all of its leaves then it's very likely a basal keiki that took over. Are these leaves coming from a side growth next to where the old leaves used to grow? Keiki leaves are smaller than adult leaves, so then it could be perfectly normal. Depending on how quickly the plant recovers and if there's a good set of roots to feed the developing plant you may have to wait up to a few years for blooms. Could be less.

It was over exposed to direct sun light in the afternoon.
One of the growth is the old central growth while there is also a lateral growth to it.

It is basically starting over. It is behaving like a seedling because in a way it is one. You are lucky it survived.

I think it's quite normal for a damaged plant to start small again. It uses energy produced by existing leaves to feed the new growth, if there are no existing leaves then it can't produce enough energy for big leaves and will grow small ones instead. If well cared for you should find that each new leaf is bigger than the last.

I have one (my first) which lost most leaves and almost all roots. The new leaves growing now are much smaller than the original ones, but it seems to be getting stronger all the time.
