Well I have a masdie whose leaves were starting to look 'funky' here and there. Upon wiping the leaves with an alcohol dampened cottonball, I found little red dots on the cotton -- hence my mite diagnosis.
So now I'm wondering how to treat it. Masdies seem so sensitive to fertilizers and such that I'm leary about using a systemic like Bayer's 3 in 1 (which is my first impulse). Would this be too strong for the masdie?
I had also toyed with the idea of bagging up the masdie for a few days with a piece of flea collar in the bag. Any idea if this would work and if it would be detrimental to the plant?
I've used floramite on both masdes and neps, with no issue. The one problem though, is that the company only sells it by the quart (it's about 300 for a quart), but you can usually find resellers on ebay
