i have recently treated my orchid with a miticide and insecticide a few days ago and i did the same about 1.5 weeks ago, and i haven't seen any pests on my plant since but i keep on seeing new bite marks/ holes in my leaves! and its an indoor orchid, does anyone have any inputs on what it could be or a very effective insect killer?

Roaches love to live in bark chip, have you checked you pot? With all the spraying you should have killed something.

Not sure what the holes look like, pictures would help. I had a similar problem, the edges of my leaves and flowers were chewed, and I was at whit's end because I wasn't able to find the culprit. Then one night I got up around 2 am and decided to check the orchid--and there they were--weevils! Could be you have something that comes out at night. Attached is a picture of one of my poor chewed phals. BTW, they are all recovering nicely now.

I was never able to find where the weevils were during the day, I also re-potted several plants, looked all over the shelving area (my chids are in my living-room) soaked to try and force them out, but nothing! Maybe they were living in the potting soil of the few non-orchid houseplants I have? Guess I'll never know, but they can fly. I collected them that night I was lucky enough to spot them. At least they stayed still once I turned on the lights so I was able to put them in a jar and dispose of them before they did more damage or multiplied! I found around 5 of them. Last winter was the first year I had them, hope they won't be back next winter!

I dont think I have ever seen anything but a picture of a weevil..Weevils?
Evil kaWeeevil's are dare devil bugs?

ya if you got other plants might just be something crawling around at night out of them .oh man how can you sleep at night knowing something is crawling around in the dark and eating your plants?

I had them little moss gnats and got a nepenthes and moss gnats are gone now and nepenthes well Fed

get a carnivore plant next to the orchid and it will eat your bugs maybe

Mice love to nibble orchids... Sure it isn't some sort of larger critter? Or slugs

They are inside orchids so I doubt it would be a slug and the bites aren't at the edges of the leaves they are like mini circles around the middle of the leaf
