Its fall in Tucson and temps have been going into the 50's for a couple weeks now. Some of the Phals are putting out spikes. But some of my other ones are getting strange bright yellow areas on the leaves: no signs of die back, the yellow areas appear just as healthy as the rest of the leaf but bright yellow and just random splotches about the leaves.
a fairly large leaf on one plant started getting what looked like a perfect circle on the leaf edge. it was sunken and crinklish looking but dry and didnt go completely through the leaf, just on one side. still it wasnt mushy or dead. there are also small raised lines and the center vein was split for a length of it. i found it very suspicious so i cut the leaf off
at first i thought it was a fungal or bacterial infection because of the perfect circle area and thought about a systemic fungicide. but the area wasnt spreading fast and just had yellow edges. what is it? the plants havent stayed wet and the roots are WAAAAY too healthy to be root root since the pot literally burst. i still have the leaf about 2 weeks later and the circle has remained the same and the leaf still green.
another symptom that i found is that the new leaves from the crown are getting curled edges. the leaves are healthy but the edges curl inward like a taco shell. what could it be? il post pictures in the morning when the sun comes out
