mforchid - I just found out that cinnamon can be a great fungicide/pesticide as well if you are still having fungus issues. Take 2 pints hot water and place two tablespoons cinnamon (regular store-bought variety) in the water and let it sit for two or three days. Strain the mixture (with cheesecloth or a coffee filter) and then spray the orchid with the dark water.

That being said, I have also read that you don't want to over do the cinnamon as it may stunt growth.

I just did this to one of my orchids that I believe may have a fungus issue. I am awaiting the results.
