Default Unknown pest on my Lycaste...white, kind of fuzzy (not mealybugs), and possible eggs?

Can someone please help me here? My Lycaste, that I thought was growing beautifully has been attacked. It appears to have some pest that is harboring itself inside where the leaves emerge. I took a few pictures with my phone, so I am not sure of the quality, but here they are. Any help would be appreciated. I just did a pretty thorough treatment of orthene recently to ward off possible thrips, so this must have been recent. I am concerned because from one side the plant looks perfect and then the backside looks like it is about to rot out. Help!

Looks like Boisduval scale to me. Here's an AOS link for information:

Boisduval indeed and nasty stuff. Alcohol on a Q-tip and then watch it carefully.

Thank you guys. I will treat it as soon as I get home today. Is it possible for this to transfer from this plant to other ones?
