Just got this in the mail today. The area is lighter in color, raised and firm. Anybody know what it is?
It came from ians_orchids on ebay

Larger pictures would be great. It's really hard to tell from ones that small.

What grower is this from?

hmm, looks like some mechanical damage from being sprayed with too strong a chemical solution....maybe...how does the rest of the plant look?

Oh cool, they're bigger now!
I agree with dounoharm, it doesn't look like any infection I've ever seen.

When I'm uncertain about things like this, I isolate the plant, and take pictures, like you have. Take new pictures or inspect the plant closely every week for a while, and see if anything has spread. Can give you some clues if it's mechanical or not, or if the infection has already been taken care of.

Maybe edema?
From my favorite pest/disease reference, a pdf by Sue Bottom:
"•Excess water is absorbed by the roots quicker than it is lost by the leaves, causing swelling of plant cells and producing a blister-like lesion.
•Occurs when plants watered during warm days and the nights turn cool or during periods of cool weather when water quantity and/or frequency is not reduced.
•The blister-like symptoms can appear on upper or lower leaf surfaces, stems, petals or sepals."

Here's a link to the rest of the pdf- http://www.staugorchidsociety.org/PD...ySueBottom.pdf

The pictures kind of look similar to yours, perhaps at later stages.
