There are apparently larger containers. Try those.

You just want me to spend more money.
Saving me from myself so I have less money to buy more orchids. Very devious.

You got me.
My master plan has been unraveled!
Seriously, I have no other clue. I don't get mealies often anymore. Occasionally I do, but I just use my fingers to wipe them off or use a cotton swab with iso, worst case scenario I use the spray.
There should be directions on the container.

Why would store bought (pyrethrins?) work any better than homemade soapy water?

I've been on a spending spree lately with orchids. I over did rewarding myself for the job where I was out in the sun all day.
Thank goodness I haven't been on a job like that afterwards, yet. 'Cause not only would I be red as a lobster, I'd be broke as all hell.
So yeah, your woes are my woes right now. I gotta save up for a couple shows too!

Idk, I don't use the homemade insecticidal soap water. I've never known how.
If somebody else here knows how to do the homemade stuff, by all means do that.
I'm telling you what I know works for me under my circumstances.

Welp...I'm off to try dunking and spraying with just soapy water. 1 part soap to 3 parts water....I think I'll rinse off the blooms/spike after a few minutes though.

Threat nullified. SO LONG EVIL MEALY BUGS! Yeah, what now, huh? You got TOLD!
Yeah yeah, premature celebration. Everyone got soaked and sprayed with soapy water last night, and then put on a table under a ceiling fan to make sure the flowers dried off.
I wasn't sure if I should wash the soapy water out of the media afterwards, so I left it.
