Please help, new Cymbidiella is dying
Default Please help, new Cymbidiella is dying

Hi,
I received my Cymbidiella Rhodochila a week ago and it is dying. I have no idea what is wrong with it. A new flower growth and a new leave growth turned black and mushy and fell off. About 6 leaves turned brown and crispy and also fell off. There are also black spots on the leaves. I am not sure what the problem could be. I thought it was under watering because of the leaves, but the brown mushy new growth makes me question it. Finally, some of the new flower buds turned black and fell off. I am worried that if this continues the whole plant will die. Someone please give me advice. Thank you.

Where did you get your plant and what kind of culture have you been providing for it during the week you've had it?

Thanks for the reply Joann. I just left it in the same culture because I read that Cymbidellas do not like to be repotted. I just moved it to a bigger pot and placed some bark mix around it. I have been watering it once a week like all my other potted orchids. I bought it on eBay from a nursery that has very good ratings. Should I maybe spray it with Physan/Phyton/Neem oil or something else? Also, I forgot to mention that it seems that some of the old black spots have developed into holes in the leaf (not during last week, but over a longer time, I see some holes with a black border around them and black spots with a hole in the middle).
